Fishing Report - July 28, 2007 PM Trip
This afternoon we were joined by Gary, Cameron, Colin, Cooper, and Brendan. We had just been out with a morning trip so we loaded up and went back our waypoints from the morning. We weren't set up for more than 10 minutes and the first rod goes off. Gary grabs it and is tied into a nice King. The adrenaline was definitely flowing and everyone in the boat was pumped up. About 5 minutes into Gary's fish, another rod fires. Now we're doubled up on majors. We boated both of them and get set back up. 5 minutes later and we're doubled up again....and that's how the whole evening went! It was a fast & furious few hours and everyone one on board landed at least one king. The hot set-ups were the same ones we had used in the morning, with the Dalmatian Spin Dr/Siggs Rigs Blue Dolphin leading the way. Here's a pic of that set-up:

The whole trip was spent with everyone in the back of the boat rooting on whoever was on the rod. These guys were TOTALLY into it. It was a lot of fun for both Jay & I.
We had already begun cleaning fish when I remembered that we needed a pic of the whole crew with their catch, so here they are minus a few that were already in zip-lock bags:

Here's my favorite shot of the night...now that's a BIG fish!!

Funniest moment of the night was when the guys went to the car to get their cooler to bring home their fillets. They come walking down the dock with this little styrofoam cooler. You know, the kind you find at the grocery store for $2. Jay looks at me and says "That isn't gonna work". Well, Jay was wrong. That cooler worked. For about 30 seconds before it disintegrated under the weight of about 50 lbs of salmon fillets! Sorry guys, but Jay & I got a big laugh from that one. Next year bring something a little bit more substantial.
In all seriousness, we had a blast with you guys and your enthusiasm was contagious. We hope to see you guys again next year!

I want to put in my two cent about our fishing trip with Billly V. Being originally from south Florida I have been on many a fishing expedition from dolphin to red fish but never has one been so fun, organized, educational, and just overall incredible. Bill and Jay were two fishing guides that had there stuff together. I will never go camping in Fairhaven, NY again without fishing with Billy V. Billy, just so you know get ready for a return trip with us and atleast one more if not two with the rest of my family next year. Our fishing trip was the talk of the weekend amongst our family. Thanks for not only an awesome fishing trip but an experience I will never forget. Gary
