Sigg's Rigs

In July of 2006 I was fishing out of Oak Orchard with a friend on his boat.  We had a pretty good day and had been taking fish on flasher/fly combos.  One fly in particular caught more fish than the others, and subsequently caught my eye.  We had been running a Siggs Rigs Green Hypnotist and I just loved the way it looked (and caught fish!).  I'd heard of Siggs Rigs but had never seen them before.  As luck would have it, I had to put gas in my truck, so I swung into Narby's on my way out of town.  As I'm filling up, in pulls a truck towing a nice looking Trophy that has Sigg's Rigs stickers on it.  The driver gets out of the truck and starts pumping gas into the boat.  I asked the guy if he was on the Siggs Rigs Pro-Staff becasue I wanted to know more about the flys and where to get them.  He looks at me and says "Nah, I'm not on the Pro-Staff.  I'm Sigg!  Matt Siggeman is my name."  I start telling him about our success with his flys that morning and he asks who I am, and I tell him that I'm Bill Ruth and that I run a boat out of Fair Haven called "Billy V".  He says "You're the Habanero guy?  I know you from the message boards."  Matt & I start talking and I give him a few of my custom Habanero's and he hands me a few of  his flies.  I started running them as soon as I got back to Fair Haven and I've been a huge fan ever since.
Matt and I have become good friends in the past year and all I run for flies (except for a couple of custom flies that a certain "Maniac" friend of mine tied up for me) are his flies.  Business has been very good for Matt, yet I can still call him directly and ask for custom colors and still have them at my doorstep in a week or so.
Over the winter Matt was working on his custom flasher/fly combos and I had a brainstorm and started painting some of my own flashers in my paint booth and sent him some pictures of my creations.  He especially liked one of them, and we worked together to design a fly to pull behind that paddle.  That combo, the Die Hard/Habanero combo is now part of his custom combo line-up and has been selling quite well for him.  We've been running it on our 600' Copper rig and it's been a regular producer for us this season.
There's a lot to be said for personal relationships when choosing business associates, and we're delighted to be associated with Matt and Sigg's Rigs.  Not only does he make a fantastic product that we truly believe in, but he's a really great guy to boot.  Thanks for all you've done for us Matt.  We're glad we have you as a friend.

Here's some of our favorite colors:
