Fishing Report - September 8, 2007
Today we were joined by Yvonne & Mike for a day of salmon fishing. They had spent a day with us back in April doing some brown trout fishing. We had a ball that day and caught a ton of browns, but they were very interested in experiencing the size and strength of some salmon for themselves. So they came back today, and I don't think they were disappointed! We had a very consistent bite all morning long, and when we wrapped it all up we had finished 12 for 14 on the day. Yvonne boated the biggest fish of the day, a 23# freight train that stripped out 500' of wire before whe could gain an inch on the fish:

Mike boated quite a few big fish today too, but my favorite was this healthy brown trout:

I'm sure that there'll be some sore arms at their house after a day like this!

Today was a hot spoon bite for us. The new Northern King Gold NBK series in yellow & green were super-hot for us today behind Sharks off the Cannon's, and the fly bite was a Siggs Rigs Green Hypnotist fly off of our wire divers out 180' on a #2 setting. We were running the spoons 15' behind the Sharks with the exception of the highest rigger, which we had stretched out 30' behind the Shark.
We look forward to you two joining us again next year for another Lake Ontario adventure. Thanks so much for a fun day today.
Until next time, Fish On!
