Fishing Report - August 22, 2008
Today we were joined by Jason, Roland, Ed, and Carl for their annual trip to the big pond. We had an E wind that shifted to S overnight an when we got out to our spot West of port we found that the temp had come way up in the water column and our fish had disappeared. We took a shot on our 80' rigger pulling a White Spinny/Sigg's White Crinkle fly but lost this fish after a quick head-shake. After that we went into search mode. Big time. We trolled and trolled and trolled and trolled and finally made our way out near West Nine Mile point. Once we got there we finally began to see a few marks and some bait and after what seemed to be an eternity we finally hooked up with a nice King that took that same White Spinny/ Sigg's White Crinkle fly down 80' on our rigger.

One word sums up today's fishing...TOUGH. We worked really hard today for the bites that we got and it sounded to me like most boats struggled in the morning with a boat here or there picking up two or three fish at best. Let's hope that things shape up better for tomorrow's Fair Haven Challenge.
Thanks for a fun day guys and thanks for hanging in there on such a touch day.
More reports to come, so stay tuned!
Until Next Time,
Fish On!!
