Finally got the teak done
I spent today up at the boat working on a few maintenance projects. First off, I got the teak put back on the boat and man does it look great! Here's a couple of before shots and a couple of after shots:

Whaddya think? Looks great, right?? As I said in an earlier entry, I used Sikkens to finish the teak. I think it came out great and I couldn't be happier with how it looks on the boat. I owe a lot of thanks to the folks on LOU and GLA for recommending it to me.
After I got the teak re-installed I got to work on getting rid of that ugly water line that the boat gets after a full season in a slip. Simple Green toilet bowl cleaner takes those marks off in just about 60 seconds. Put it on, let it sit until the stains are gone, rinse with water and you're good to go...no more ugly stains at the water line!
When I finished that I got to work buffing and waxing the hull. I figured since it was such a warm day that I might as well get that done so I don't have to worry about it in the spring. That's one nice thing about storing the boat indoors all winter long....since it's not exposed to the sun it won't oxidize so we should be all set come April. All we have left to do is to buff & wax the topsides and touch up the bottom paint and we'll be good to go.
We've received a ton of feedback regarding our move out West next year, and almost all of it has been extremely positive. There have been a couple of people however who felt that I was unfair to Fair Haven in my announcement of our plans to move. Let me set the record straight here once and for all. I meant absolutely no dis-respect to Fair Haven or anyone who makes their living in the area when I made that announcement. I struggled mightily with the decision to leave Fair Haven and I still think that it's a fabulous place to fish and to bring your family for vacation. We've loved our time there and we're going to miss the town and the fishing there immensely. To think that I intended any ill will to any of the people or businesses there is just silliness. For the record, I wish the people there nothing but the best and I hope that the fishing is off the charts for them next year.
OK, that about wraps it up for today. Time for me to get the kids in their jammies and off to bed!
Until Next Time,
Fish On!!
