Fishing Report - May 1, 2010 - Wilson NY

Today John and Cheryl joined us for a day on the big pond out of Wilson.  We had nice flat seas and a very comfortable ride for the entire day and the cooperative Kings, Cohos, and Lake Trout kept us busy most of the day.  While it wasn't fast & furious nor did we whack a big King, we did manage a nice mixed box of fish that was very representative of what Lake Ontario has to offer in early May.  We worked the inside water for most of the day and found that 60-80 FOW area to hold the most receptive fish.  Spoons did most of the damage today and the Dreamweaver SS Midnight Special and the Northern King Gold NBK were our standouts.  We also took several cohos on a Candy Corn Kaboom stick bait fished off of a diver.  The few bites that we had on attractor/flies came on a Green Double Crush Glow Spinny/Sigg's Billy V Glow Ghost fly fished off of our divers.  Riggers down 30-50 ft, divers out  from 30-150' on a variety of settings, and a 10 color core all took fish for us.

Even though we didn't catch the "big one" for the LOC derby today, we still had a lot of fun and enjoyed our day with John & Cheryl.  Thanks for a fun tome today guys...I hope you enjoyed your first time fishing the Bar area and we look forward to fishing with you again soon!

Until Next Time,
Fish On!!
